Romantic places in Tulum

It is said that Gonzalo Guerrero sailed from Darien in 1511, in a favorable climate for the marine voyages. However, at dawn on the third day, there was a great storm, and flying fish filled the deck of Guerrero’s ship. The fatal omen of this marine phenomenon was finally fulfilled: the ship of Guerrero collided with reefs, and sank without remedy. Guerrero was taken by the waves to the beach of the place and soon rescued by the natives. Upon recovering, Guerrero woke up the love of the Mayan princess Zazil Ha, which resulted in the marriage of the couple.

Restaurant mi amor

What could be more romantic than a restaurant called mi amor? “my love”.  Located in Boca Paila, km 4.1 with a large deck covering the restaurant where you can enjoy the Tulum beaches just ahead, this romantic place can be perfect for a nice evening with that special someone.

Like we told you this would be the most common way to get to Playa del Carmen, most of the people are coming from places like the United States, Canada, UK, or the rest of Europe.

Once you arrive at the Cancun Airport you’ll have to go thru baggage claim, then customs and then security, this process can take a while depending on the traffic of the day at the Cancun International Airport, you must know that weekends are busier than weekdays.

After that you’ll be going outside the airport thru a hall full of people from travel agencies, car rentals and transportation companies that will be telling you to go with them of to take a free tour or free transportation. This can be true… but you have to know you’ll be going to a 90 minutes or more timeshare presentation, that is correct, these people will be giving you free tours and transportation but you’ll be stuck in a 90 minutes breakfast next day with someone selling you a timeshare, if you don’t have a problem with this, then you can go ahead.

Now, we’ll tell you the different ways of getting to Playa del Carmen.

We suggest the Pre-booked transportation, you can check it below or at: Cancun Airport Transportation.

Also
  • Pre-booked Private Transportation. This is the first option we recommend to anyone, since is hassle free, you can book online with different companies comfortably from your house with credit card or PayPal, and then just arrive at the airport and look for your name on a board where everybody is waiting for passengers (After the gates of the airport), then jump in a van and be taken to your hotel or condo in Playa del Carmen. Backpacking in Tulum?

tulum-ruins

Nowadays, Tulum has been heading the top magical must-go of the Mexican Caribbean and many outsiders have been landing to the quiet whitish sands to visit weather the gigantic ruins or experiencing extreme sports like snorkeling.

Sometimes we need to get away from the routine, see new horizons and let things take its own rhythm, that’s when the perfect gateway shows up in front of you. Suddenly you’re thinking on taking a trip to Mexico and not just some random trip but going into the majestic sea of the Mexican Caribbean.

Tulum-sunset-beach

Fun facts about Tulum’s history, its name comes from “wall” referring to the large barricade that surrounds the settlement. In the Mayan language, Tulum was called Zama, which means “Dawn”. This makes Tulum one of the few sites surrounded by walls.

But don’t be afraid, it’s not like you’re in a fortress, not everything is walls. There’s a cliff where the ruins are settled and you can take amazing pictures and enjoy the long view through the sea.

tulum-cliff-ruins
